Feb 20 flying to the Amazon to Coco and visit Santa Clara Market

We get an early start so we can fly to Coca and then onto the Amazon. After we land we get aQuick driving tour to give us the flavor of the town then onto the needed bathrooms and to drop off our luggage for the “canoe” ride  down the Nape River in the Amazon river watershed.

Celso took us to the market and got us acquainted with the fruits and vegetables. He even bought some for us to taste and some to bring with us.  One of the booth had a healer that showed us some  of her ingredients and we tasted one. -a pain killer for us but te the guys it was for the prostate.
Onto see the fish market and the kinds of fish for sale. Before Grabbing our bags we have another one of Celso treasures and then board the canoe to the Yarina Lodge
After dinner we went out for our first adventures.  Mine!!! Hand in the terminate nest.
Resting by the kapak tree with bats buying around our heads.  A little further down .the path we saw frogs and listened to the “choir”.
On to bed.  The slides seemed to have come in with the day at the end and the beginning of the day at the end of the pictures.

So start at the bottom and come back to this spot.
My tarantula friend in our night walk

Looking down the river at sunset.  We took a early night adventure walk
My termite nest that was cut open for me to put my hand on….and the ants climbed on
the amazing thing with these guys are that after I flung them off, my arm was sticky like glue
My friend and roommate for the trip.  we had a wonderful time and it is just beginning here

Our room with our safety nets for night and thank goodness for them!
Our cabin is on the left
Everything is open to the air and of course the bugs!
Arriving for lunch at our new home.
We have arrived at the starting point of the branch of river that will take us to the camp.
We are getting ready to push off down the river to our camp. The river runs very fast.
Celso was always buying something for us to try but I can't remember the name. Taste like water chestnuts.
They are cooking fish wrapped and unwrapped but the skewers are worms that they eat all the time.
Look closely because we are challenged in the coming days to eat them live and cooked
                                Market
This lady is a healer and these are her medicines she sells.  Celso has us try a few.
                The market
As we drove into town, we passed tanks full of fish.
My traveling buddies- some of them.  We had 13 in the beginning.
As i said in the beginning everything is upside down in order.  Here we are flying into COCO and you can see the volcanoes peaking through the clouds.
