We have all decided to go on this wonderful tour that Celso arranged. We get an early start and our first stop is a small town Pintag, that we try delicious pastries.
We stop at an area that has sightenings for the Andean condor at the Chakana Reserve . We never did see any and these birds are getting extinct. We ordered our lunch and then went onward .
Next stop is Antisana volcano . It is a stratovolcano of the northern Andres. It is the fourth highest volcano in Ecuador at 5,753 meters - a very technical climb. It is dormant at the moment.
After wonderful views we head back to the Reserve for our lunch and a surprise birthday cake for Ingrid.
On the way home we pick up a stone that is wedged between our two back tires. Just adds to our excitement for the day. We have to stop to get it fixed which took only a few minutes with us still in the van
The pastry shop was our first stop and a cake was bought secretly for Ingrid for her birthday lunch
volcano rocks
our friendly llama which didn't spit at us.
This where we stopped hoping to see Condons
We are up 13,317.07 feet
We hiked around this lake on one side.
Evelyn taking some close ups of flowers!
