Hotel Excellsior Vittoria visit

This morning we started with a visit to the Grand Excelsior Vittoria Hotel where our student, Brandon is performing his internship.  This is a 5 star luxury hotel that has the designation as  one of "The Leading Hotels of the World"

Waiting for us all to get here before going in to meet Brandon.

Here we are all together. We are sharing this experience with Alfred State students and their Professor Diane.  Wisteria is blooming this week.
Brandon explaining the grounds and the background of the hotel.

Above in the Villa is where a family can stay,

Ancient ruins shown below by the pool area.  The 5+ acre site borders the sea and is in the center of town.  Caesar Augustus is said to have had a villa on this site 2000 years ago.

Swimming pool above / spa entrance below.

Vittoria is the oldest of the three hotel buildings.  It has received a total renovation.
Brandon walked us through a lemon/orange grove.  They pick the fruit for fresh squeezed juice!

                                                                      The lounge
Cruise ship resting in the bay.  Mount Vesuvius beyond.
Brandon is explaining the experience that guests receives as they come into the hotel for a stay.

The hotel was built in 1834 and this picture shows a room from the early days. There are rooms that are still appointed like this.

These three pictures (one above and two below) are of The Dalla Apartment and is often requested. The price for this suite is 2000 euros. It is named for a famous Italian musician who stayed there. How many suites have you stayed in with its own baby grand piano?
Bedroom and bath are pictured below

Rooms vary on views, configuration and amenities from 407 to 799 euros per night for their rack rates.

A typical room.  Elegantly appointed. A family could also sleep here as this couch is a pull out.

The exercise room is explained by Marco, Front Desk Manager, who helped Brandon show us around.

The grand staircase is beautifully appointed.  Each level features a goddess for each of the Seasons.
Thank you Brandon for our visit and superb tour!
Ciao :-)

  1. The hotel is beautiful! You are lucky to have stayed in such a grand location. The courtyard is stunning with the benches and the trees. Staying by the sea must have been exciting as well along with the amazing view of the pool and the ancient ruins. It looks like you had a wonderful time on your trip.
