As we walked along the island where the church is, I looked down at the water. It really is this color of green which is just beautiful. Katia said that during Covid it turned red and no one knew why.
The church and the stairs up to it. The name is Assumption of Maria Church.i don’t know more about it because it wasn’t in English.
The other boat of us
Our handsome rower
Tito’s house but now a hotel. You too could sleep in his bed!

Castle that was built in the 11th century
Just a house on the way
This little robot fascinated me. He/she took the orders to the table the waitress punched in and he/she would collect the dishes at the end and go back to the kitchen. The one in our hotel had a cat face on it.
Katia and her brother and our driver behind
The famous Bled cream cake- vanilla pudding whipped cream on top basically-But better.
A mailbox. Post card was 56 euros
Municipality building
The house of or evening.
We started with two kinds of grappa to drink! About 46% proof….
On the bus again to Bled Lake. We arrive to board a wooden boat that will take us to the church on the island. The boats are beautiful wood and the captain is a strapping young man that stands in the stern and rows us across. Ninety steps up to the church and some of the visitors decide to carry their love ones up to the top. They are crazy. I have my first ice cream and back we went to the boats.
We walk around town and go pass Tito’s house which is now a hotel. Some went up to the castle on the hill but i walked around town and then came back and sat with Ellen before lunch. The castle dates back to the year 1011. It is now used for tourists but was a gift from Henry II to Bishop Adaibert.
We are eating again. Dessert included the traditional Bled cake which is called kremsmita.
We settled into the hotel and just as we were leaving for dinner, the heavens opened up! Our surprise dinner was a traditional dinner of 200 years ago. This young couple has been restoring a house in their village that dates back. The house was built in 1664. , It had stone floors in eatery way and wooden floors in other places - the windows were small because it meant lower taxes…all our food was made of the same ingredients of then.
The boats that took us across the lake. My cousin Jackie Rowed her shell here in a race not too long ago. The buoys lines are beyond the boats but are hard to see.
