Jan 19- Quito and going to the equator

Our day is starting at 6:30 with a breakfast a followed by a briefing for the next couple of days.

We are off to the Equator museum . This museum showed replicas of indigenous sun temples and other  interesting artifacts. The museum was “the path of the sun” which traveled through the middle of the museum. There was a straight line that represented the equator.  We did experiments to show and prove we were in fact there.

Next we were off to the an Agave museum where we learned about the different plants. Which one was for the making of agave and which one was for making baskets. The family is trying to preserve the heritage of locally distilled liquors, such as tequila, mezcal, and Miske which is a Miquel Ecuadorian version of Mezcal.

Lunch was sampling of lupi beans ceviche with quinoa tortillas, plantains, and corm fried  with water.  Dinner was out at a beautiful restaurant that over looked the city.  They even had little tables for special occasions.

Dddinndddddddd

We had a fabulous din were beautiful but also watching the tables that were set up for surprise engagements and birthdays.  So much fun. Our day is
