The hospital

  Hi all,
This is the hospital here in Sorrento. We had a student in that was here from Thursday to Monday. Here the Doctor comes once a day, Mainly in the afternoon and never on weekends. The nurses are very few on the weekends too but they do have a volunteer that comes around.
The food is very scant so we brought` tea and toast several times a day a when we came to visit.

As a paramedic, I have to say it is a bit scary. They do not seem to have alcohol and sterilization here.  Things being sterile leaves much to be desired.  Watching them do an IV was a bit disturbing and/ or other things ..

The hospitals here accept any patient and don't separate you when you arrive. Our student fortunately had a roommate that had kidney stones and wasn't contagious. He had been there for more than a week to make sure his belly was empty so he could go for "a scope to see".  He said he was probably going to be there for "more weeks".
So the moral of the story is don't get sick in Italy and have to go to the hospital!
Ciao :-)
